Thankful Thursday: No More Bandages

 Hi everybody, it's mes, Giovanni! Today we be joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday blog hop!

You might remember that three weeks ago, on March 26th, mes had a toe amputated from my back left footie because it had a cancerous mast cell tumor on it. Then mes had to wear this pesky thing. For 18.5 whole days. Mes was not amused.

For a whole 18.5 days, mes couldn't run, curl up in my tiny tree, get in the window, or chase my favorite toys. It was all kinds of no fun for Giovanni! Mama tried to help mes not be so bored. Hers gotted me a new thing called a snuffle mat, and mes and Tylan had some fun hunting for treats in it. But mes was still sad me couldn't go where me wanted or do what me wanted.

Last Wednesday, de vet said mes would have my sutures removed, and hers said that maybe I could take the bandage off. Mes was so excited. But then mes got there, and theys decided mes still needed to wear that pesky bandage even though they removed my sutures. Me was not amused. Again.

Mes was supposed to keep de bandage on until Tuesday this week, but mes said me had enough! Mes ripped it off for de sixth time on Monday morning! Mama sighed and said hers would give it a try but if mes started licking or chewing my healing footie that hers would have to wrap mes back up. So mes was a good boy alllllll day! 

Yesterday, Mama took mes back to de vet so theys could look at my footie again. Theys took me to de back and then asked Mama how long mes had been without my bandage. Hers told them mes had taken it off on Monday morning, and, after theys made sure mes wasn't licking or chewing my footie, theys said mes can run around NAKED again!!! 

Mes is SOOOOOO HAPPY!!!

Mes can curl up on my tiny tree, get in de window, chase my favorite toys, and run around again! Mes celebrated last night by getting in de bedroom window and trying to tare down de blinds (it's one of my favorite games!). MOL!!

So that be my thankful today - NO MORE BANDAGE FOR GIOVANNI!!!
