Happy 1st Gotcha Day, Tylan!

Hi everyone! Tylan's first Gotcha Day was technically yesterday (October 8th), but we are celebrating it today and hope he doesn't mind we are a day late.

I cannot believe it's been a year since Tylan came home to live with us. He came home nearly one month after Lita went to the Rainbow Bridge. My heart was still shattered from her death. Having a new kitty family member was wonderful, but it was also an adjustment for everyone. 

I'm honestly surprised that Tylan is still with us given all his tremendous health challenges. His health is still quite precarious - I just don't talk about it much because I don't feel like it's very fair to drag you all on this roller coaster ride I'm on with him. 




Over the past year, Tylan and I have developed a bond. 

He is the epitome of a Siamese cat. I love that about him. 

Tylan loves tummy rubs. He loves them so much, he demands them numerous times a day. He'll follow me around and suddenly flop over on his back and demand I drop what I'm doing to rub his belly. 

He hates being in his carrier and traveling, but he loves the vet! He demands tummy rubs from all the staff there, too. If they actually go do their work, he will stand by the door they come in and go out of and meow his head off. 

Tylan loves everyone. I don't think he's ever met a stranger. When friends come to visit, he usually bounces off the walls, he's so excited about it! 

Like Lita, Tylan loves food - all kinds of food. He'll dash into the  kitchen whenever I'm in there, hoping I'll get some kitty plates down for another snack. He watches me very intently when I'm in the kitchen.

Tylan really likes to play! He keeps his very favorite toys in the kitchen, including the little green mouse his favorite vet tech gave him and the Yeowww rainbows and butterfly from Pansy, Max, and Mom Laura. 

Tylan never ceases to amaze me. He is the happiest and friendliest cat I think I've ever known. His personality is a testament to how strong and resilient he is. 

I hope we have many more Gotcha Days to celebrate with this very special boy.
