Today's memory is inspired by something that happened last night.
I went to give Tylan a kiss on top of his fuzzy little head, and apparently my face resembles a plaything, because he reached up with his little paw, claws extended, and whapped me a good one in the eye. That will teach me to kiss the top of his head!
A trip to urgent care later is likely in order because the eye hurts pretty bad, and I can't see what it looks like (being severely sight-impaired and all).
Anyway...
One night back in 2007 or 2008, D was taking a nap on the couch, and Carmine was chasing after Lita. Lita ended up running right over D in order to get to her favorite blue bed (the one you see her in in the photo above).
However, when she trampled over a sleeping D, one of her claws accidentally tore his eyelid open. So off to the emergency room we went. At that time, Denver Health's emergency room took FOREVER to be seen in, so we waited for hours and hours in the waiting room and then some more hours in the exam room. I think it ended up taking about 6 hours total.
The doctor superglued D's eyelid together, and he was fine. :) He was a little nervous to sleep on the couch after that!
Ouch! We know our claws can cause some damage...but it's usually unintentional. We hope your eye is okay.
ReplyDeleteYikes! Sounds like eyes are in danger in your house - cute picture though.
ReplyDeleteYikes! That must have hurt! We hope your eye is better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope your eye heals up quickly.
ReplyDeleteOne of mine was sleeping on me when another one jumped on the bed and startled her awake and she whapped me in the eye -gave me a black eye !
That sounds very painful. I hope your eye soon heals.
ReplyDeleteOh yea, those eye ouchies are no fun at all, for human or kitty!
ReplyDeleteOuch! I hope your eye is OK.
ReplyDeleteOuch! I hope your eye is okay. The worst thing that happens around here is Binga biting my human's nose - from the way she complains, it must hurt lots! But there's never any real damage.
ReplyDeleteOMG Sierra I bet you & D were having kitten fits when he got injured! Can you imagine? Supergluing the eyelid...weird but obviously effective! When P SH got my eye I spent 3 hours inn EMERG & no one did a thing for me, I signed myself out & came home & did my own doctoring. I will never have full vision in right eye but it is better than it was. I'm sorry Tylan did a 'smackypaw' on you...I KNOW how that hurts. I think Tylan & BellaDharma are similar in that what we are 'used to doing' with our other cats we can't do with our new furbabies….a little bit of baggage I suspect. Sending you ((hugs)) & POTP, Sherri-Ellen & BellaDharma x0
