A Few Purrs and Prayers for Carmine

We could use a few purrs and prayers for Carmine. He has had three rounds of Doxycycline for his upper respiratory infection.

When this all started, Carmine was very congested, snotting on me, and sneezing like crazy. The vet said she could hear the infection starting to go into his lungs, but we thankfully avoided pneumonia.

The first round of Doxycycline helped significantly. Carmine's congestion cleared up, and his sneezing decreased a lot, too.

The second and third rounds of Doxy haven't really done much for him. He is slightly congested and sneezing a little still.



We have just started a course of Zenniquin. However, our vet says that if Carmine's infection doesn't clear up with this, we will need to sedate him and get some head x-rays to see what is going on.

I feel so bad for Carmine because he's had this infection for so long, and I'm worried because it's being so stubborn. Please send a few purrs and prayers Carmine's way if you could? We appreciate it, everyone!

    Purrayers and POTP for Carmine. One of my cats has something similar -almost like my sinusitis. She gets Convenia and some steroids at safe intervals, ut she doesn't clear up either. Her doctor says her lungs are clear, but I have her checked to make sure that continues.
    I so hope your sweet boy gets better !
