It was really cold here over the weekend. The apartment got just a little chilly (it is usually very hot in here even in winter without the heat on!). So the Mom thought I might like a fleecce blanket on me to help me stay warm. I usually don't like blankets on me, but I didn't mind last night.
Last week, I went to see the vet and got another antibiotic injection. This was my third antibiotic injection. We know there are many people who do not agree with giving the Convenia injection, and the Mom says she will only use it as a last resort.
The first injection I got reduced my coughing about 15%. The second injection I got reduced my coughing about 90% for about 10 days, but then my coughing got worse again. This third injection hasn't helped nearly as much as the second one did, but it has reduced my coughing a little.
Since I am done with my Convenia regimen, my regular vet wants me to go back to see the Internal Medicine vet - I saw her at the end of December. The Mom wonders what the next step is for me. The Internal Medicine vet had mentioned trying a different steroid with me if the Convenia didn't help. But since the Convenia did help some, she doesn't know if they will want me to have more of that or start with the steroid.
I am still enjoying life. I like to curl up against the Mom while she writes on her bed. I have even swatted the little red dot several times lately. I also make sure t
Thank you, everyone, who has been purring and praying for me. It sure is wonderful to have so many great friends care about you! I appreciate and love you all.
Milita, we always are hoping that you feel better, sweet one! If you are bopping Carmine on the noggin, then we all rejoice...well, except Carmine, that is...
ReplyDeleteMelita, you and your mom do, as do the rest of the mom's and kitties, the best you can with what information you have to go with. There have been terrible instances with Convenia and some kitties have fared well. Mom didn't know any of that stuff when both Admiral and I had a few shots of it. We made it through fine. Mom happened to have had me mention it on my blog once, and someone informed us of the risks. I know mom would think twice if the occasion came up again.
ReplyDeletestill sending more purrs and prayers!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the Convenia shots helped you for so long, Lita! When a kitty is really sick, their human needs to do whatever it takes. Please keep us posted about how you are doing, and I will be sending you lots of purrs in the meantime.
