Hi everyone, it's Lita today.
My leg has continued to give me a hard time lately. It has been cold and rainy here the past few days, too, and the Mom says that probably doesn't help with my arthritis pain any.
The Mom is starting to talk about getting me a "second opinion" on my leg. She says she couldn't live with herself if there is something more she and the vet can do to help me and she didn't find out about it.
The Mom says that she is being a brave human by going to the dentist next week (that place terrifies her as much as the "back" at the vet's office terrifies me). She says since she is being a brave human, I have to be a brave kitty and go to the doctor, too. I think the Mom's logic is quite flawed! Just because she is being a brave human doesn't mean I should have to be a brave kitty, right?
Sometimes when my leg is really hurting me, I don't want to eat all that much (which is very not like me!). The Mom has noticed that if she holds my plate up for me, I will usually eat then. So she says she's going to get me an elevated bowl for my wet noms and a raised bowl for my kibble. Do any of you use an elevated bowl? If so, what is your favorite kind?
That's about all that's going on with me right now. I will come back and visit with you all again sometime soon!
Oh Lita, humans say such crazy things! But you know that she loves you, and wants you to be painfree and healthy, so I guess you'll just have to cut her some slack. I've got no info on an elevated bowl, other than I've asked The Hubby to create something for Angel and Chuck and nuthin' has happened. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMilita, as much as you might not like going to the vet, it really is a good thing because maybe they could help make your leg feel better and then you won't have much pain. We all have elevated bowls here...we use one called Classy Cat Dish. It's available through their website and on Amazon. Or, your mom could just make an elevated dish, put your dish on a stack of books, on a box, anything to lift it up.
ReplyDeleteSweet Lita, I'm sorry your leg hurts sweetie and a second opinion might be wise. Hugs from all of us.
ReplyDeletesending purrs and prayers about your leg, and tell Mom I have a dentist appt next week (I HATE the dentist) and I am NOT brave! (This is the Mom talking!) catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteMilita we hope you are doing ok! Your mom loves you and wants you to get better!
ReplyDeleteI really hope your human is finally able to find out why your leg is bothering you so much, Lita! It must be awful to have that pain all the time.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you, Lita, but sorry you are still being bothered by your leg pain. Purrs that Mom's idea helps you feel better.
ReplyDeleteI definitely think a second opinion is in order. Be a brave girl and do what your mom says!
ReplyDeleteWe think your Mom is wise to get a second opinion, Lita. She loves you, and want the very best for you. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteGo with a raised bowl. We used one with Harvey when he wore his cone. We didn't buy a special one but you may have a better choice in the USA than here. Get one. I read they help cats and dogs a lot.
ReplyDeleteThis is the one we used when Connor had to wear a cone for 2 weeks (there's a smaller version too - also on Amazon) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B012MCRC3G/ref=sxts_bia_sr_2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=3182441022&pd_rd_wg=AV862&pf_rd_r=B34KTWCQSBH9JXDXNFMZ&pf_rd_s=desktop-sx-top-slot&pf_rd_t=301&pd_rd_i=B012MCRC3G&pd_rd_w=EwA43&pf_rd_i=raised+cat+dish&pd_rd_r=84WGM2MXPC63H11WJPB1&ie=UTF8&qid=1506633755&sr=2
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that looks horrible. just search for this on Amazon - Necoichi Raised Cat Food Bowl
ReplyDeletePoor Lita. Maybe your mom could flip a bowl upside down and set your dish on top of it or stack some books under your food dish until she gets you an elevated dish. XO
ReplyDeleteWe're sorry that your leg hurts you so much sometimes. For once, you can trust your human's logic : better have a second opinion from another vet, Lita. We hope you feel better soon. Purrs
ReplyDeleteHope you are able to get to the cause of your ongoing pain, Lita.
ReplyDeleteAnother opinion may be quite helpful...even if it is a vet...
Petcretary has MJF's bowl set in a coffee can...it raised it up quite well...with the bonus of putting stuff under the bowl like a mini storage unit:)
