A couple of weeks ago, I decided to go visit our friend David Draiman, who is still available for adoption, at Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue. It was the first time I'd ever been to the shelter. After a tour of the facility, I spent most of my remaining time in the room with the kitties who have FIV or FeLV.
One of David's roommates is Oliver Doell. Oliver is such a sweet house panther; he came right over and wanted to be petted and have his head scratched. He couldn't get enough affection, and he purred all the while.
Like David, Oliver has tested positive for FIV. Please don't let that stop you from getting to know him or taking him home. FIV+ cats can and do live long, healthy lives. FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs, and it is only transmitted to other cats through penetrating bite wounds.
Oliver was found as part of a feral colony, but he is not feral. The humans feeding the feral colony noticed how friendly Oliver was and brought him to Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue so he would have a chance of finding his forever home. Oliver loves to be around people and would love a home of his own.
If you'd like to meet Oliver, you can visit Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue, located at 2390 S. Delaware St. in Denver, CO. If you'd like more information about Oliver Doell, you can call the shelter at 303-744-6205.
