Help Me with a Surprise for the Babies?

Hi Kitties!  It's the mom here, and I need your help!

I want to get my wonderful fur babies a cat tree.  I would like one with a ramp or little stairs or a little ladder so that Carmine can use it as he gets older and his arthritis progresses and so that Jewel can use it while she's here.

I've been searching around on the Internet and found a couple I think the babies would like.

My questions for you are: where did your human get your cat tree?  What do you like best about it (the scratching posts, the faux fur, the condo, the perches, the dangling toy...)?

I figured if I can't find a good one with a ramp, I could find a separate ramp and make sure the height is right and put it right by the tree.  Does anyone know where I can find a free-standing ramp if I need one?  I saw that Target has a few on-line...

Any helpful hints or suggestions are much appreciated!  The most important thing is for my beautiful babies to love it.  They've given so much to me.

Please don't tell the babies about their surprise.  They should have a new tree either next weekend or the weekend after, I'm hoping (depends on transportation and stuffs), but it will be soon! :)

  1. I'm limited to what can be found in our local PetValu and PetSmart stores, so I can't help. (Shipping costs, duty, etc, into Canada preclude ordering one on-line.) Whatever you get will be great -- I'm sure they'll love it!

  2. We've just stopped by to say lucky kitties and good luck in the hunt for a great tree. We're totally deprived as we have no cat tree but as we consider ourselves to own the entire house we manage.

  3. The kitties are so blessed. I don't have one yet. Our place is too small for a cat tree. Maybe when we move to a bigger place. I'm sure whatever kind you get for them, they will love it. =)

  4. Mum bought one on line for us once but it wasn't very stable (and to be honest we are quite boisterous). She went to the RSPCA and got one from there - they put it together for her which saved us listening to the "why doesn't that fit" when she's clearly trying to put the wrong pieces together, helped her drop the back seats so she could squeeze it in the car and at least they got the benefit of any profit.

  5. Our cat trees are homemade, so that probably won't help you. One thing we noticed was that if you buy from someone who actually makes them (lots of places on the internet, and you may have someone locally... try googling and see!), they are willing to customize the tree for you. Our head peep had talked to several before she started collecting wine crates for our new tree.

  6. We bought our cat tree on line. The one we got was a little pricey. The mom wanted something real sturdy for us. The one thing that she wanted and we like a lot is that the tree has sisal on it for us to scratch. As far as buying online, look for sites that offer free shipping to help save costs. Drs. Foster & Smith is a good one that offers free shipping often.

We know you'll find a good one for you kitties...and we promise not to tell them!

  8. Oooh. We don't have a cat tree. Sometimes I wish we did, but Mommy can't afford one, and besides, I am mostly a jungle kitty.
    Good luck!

  9. Our cat tree is over 10 YEARS OLD! We need a new one! I think my human picked up our ancient tree from PetSmart, and since we were all young (3 years and under), she didn't need to think about things like ramps. Still doesn't, actually - we are all quite active, even though we are now all over 10.

  10. We don't have a cat tree here, but we have pet stairs for the bed and the stuffed chair, so that Sammy can get up and down. Good luck finding a good one -- what a wonderful surprise for your babaies!

  11. I am sure they will love whatever tree you pick out. I unfortunately don't have much good advice to give out on this question.

  13. Some how we managed to put our comment about our cat tree on the previous post. You can check it out there. We have a really good one with a ramp. We just got a new one which we had seen at The Chronicles of Zee and Zoey. Purrs and hugs from the kitties at The Cat on My Head, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

  14. Oh, we're excited for them. We loved it when we got a tree. We don't have a ramp but we don't really need one - at least not yet. But We know they'll enjoy their surprise.

  15. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my KittyScape Cat Tower and it was fairly easy for Mom to assemble. Mom isn't great at assembling things, and if she can do it, anyone can! Here is the review that Mom did of it last September...with photos! http://opcatchat.blogspot.com/2012/09/kittyscape-cat-tower-review-and-enter.html
